Welcome to Arlington
Arlington was once known as Menotomy which was a village within Cambridge. In 1807 became incorporated and in 1867, was given the name Arlington. There are 10 Arlington neighborhoods; Arlington Center, Arlington Heights, East Arlington, Brattle Square, Jason Heights, Arlmont Village, Morningside, Turkey Hill, Little Scotland and Poet’s Corner. Arlington is bordered by 6 towns.There are 10 schools in the Arlington Public School System. Seven Elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school. Aside from the Public Schools there are two Parochial Schools, Arlington Catholic High Schools and St. Agnes School which is elementary and middle school.
The Minuteman Bikeway which passes through many Arlington neighborhoods and Spy Pond park are both community favorites. Robins Farm Park is another local spot where kids can play on the playground and there are organized and pick up sporting events. Arlington Center has many shops, gallery’s, small businesses, a Farmer’s Market run from June to October, fitness centers and many restaurants.
